Be the first kid on your block to host a house concert, your friends will love you for creating a memorable live music experience! Just send an email to 1folkstar@gmail.com to set a date and get the ball rolling!

There's a video of a song from a house concert below.

How to host a house concert:
1.Set a date with me.
2.Invite a bunch of friends, co-workers and acquaintances (even strangers!)
3.Night of event:
Set up some chairs and a buffet table. (potluck/byob works fine.)
7 pm guests arrive and have food and drinks.
8 pm first set of music for 45 minutes
8:45 social time/ break
9:15 second set of music for 45 minutes
10 pm socialize and say goodbyes
A fun time had by all!

Money: Normally each guest pays a suggested donation, the amount is determined in advance by the host and myself. Some hosts choose to give a concert as a gift to their guests, in which case, we'll agree on a fee for the concert.

Here's what some folks are saying about house concerts I've played:

The house concert was fabulous! Mark Cool's music is sweet - and sometimes funny - it has a depth and power that taps into a tender appreciation for living- even when it's edges are hard - that makes us want to wake up and feel more alive. Mark's voice and presence take us to that place, along the trail he's traveled and come through singing. -Joanna H.

Amen! Dave

"What a blast going to a house concert with you performing. Great music, great performance, a great way to connect to other people! It's like have your own famous performer coming to your house (of a friends house) to perform just for you!"

Martin B.

Mark’s lyrics are impeccable...finely-crafted word pictures that take you to personal zones of introspection, memories and pure fun! The house party was a perfect venue to fully hear the songs without distraction. Mark definitely ranks among top folk/country writers. And we got to really hear Mark’s guitar pickin’ which added so much to the mix. He played a few licks of Freight Train between sets and I’ve had it in my mind all week….would love to hear more!
