guest musicians who played on 'introducing mark cool and the folk stars':
 
dom flemons - played harmonica and banjo on a number of tracks. dom plays with the popular old time folk revival group, the carolina chocolate drops, and has released a solo record as well. he's fun to work with in the studio too! dom brought in his bones and played a little bit too. cool.

ben palmer- played stand-up bass on a few tracks , including the bass solo on woman at a gas station that one reviwer described as 'better than sex'. ben is a durham, nc resident who plays in a variety of jazz combos locally, as well as touring with jazz players, and occasionally playing bass with singer/songwriter bo lozoff.

gregory blaine- gregory plays a cool bluesy lead guitar on 'black gold'. gregory's regular band is called rootzie, he and his partner dolie trade lead vocals with an excellent supporting cast of blues musicians, playing a range of blues, roots, and gospel-tinged music with a lot of soul.

james lee- owner of sound scripture studios where the disc was recorded, contributed a lead guitar on 'black gold', (one of 3 lead guitars, others by gregory and  mark cool.)
