woman at a gas station copyright 2007,
mark cool
i met a woman selling flowers at a gas station/ her face ravaged by the sun
she said she liked my hair, and how'd i get it to look like that?/ and she asked me for
a cigarette
well i didn't buy her flowers, and i
didn't have a smoke for her/ still she smiled at me, and so i say this prayer for her:
may you always see the beauty in every flower
may you always be kissed by the moon and the stars and the sea
may you never fear, may you never want
may
you never fear, may you never want
she tried to sell her wares to a man who laughed each time he spoke/ i wondered what was the
joke?
and as i drove away, my eyes they felt like cryin/ wilted flowers, still she's smilin'
well i didn't buy her flowers, and i didn't have a smoke for her, still
she smiled at me, and so i say this prayer for her:
may
you always see the beauty in every flower/ may you always be kissed by the moon and the stars and the sea/ may you never fear,
may you never want/ may you never fear, may you never want...
